Funding Boosts Ways2H Waste-to-Energy Efforts
Waste-to-energy producer Ways2H has secured funding from Pacific6 Enterprises, a social benefit investment firm. The deal will strengthen Ways2H’s efforts as the company produces renewable hydrogen to fuel microgrids, power generation and electric charging stations.
According to John Molina, founding partner of Pacific6 Enterprises, solutions to convert waste into clean energy are now needed more than ever. He notes that the company’s efforts address both climate change and the growing waste problem.
Ways2H produces clean hydrogen with a thermochemical process that uses municipal solid waste, sludge, medical refuse and plastics. The company says its method extracts hydrogen from the world’s worst waste streams without incineration to produce clean fuel for mobility and power generation. According to the company, this operation is net-zero carbon by itself and carbon-negative when paired with carbon capture and storage.
Ways2H is now building its first two commercial waste-to-hydrogen production facilities in Japan and California. The company plans a third project for construction in Pune, India.
Pacific6 Enterprises supports causes and companies that can positively impact social, environmental and economic change. Ways2H and Pacific6 Enterprises are both based in Long Beach, CA.
